To become a Christian is God’s will for everyone…
“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” I Timothy 2:3-5 You can be saved and know it…“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” I John 5:13
John 3:36 There are four things you must know:
1. All have sinned…“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. Romans 3:10 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:6
2. The penalty for sin is death and Hell…Why would a GOD OF LOVE send me to hell? Yes, God is a GOD OF LOVE --- but God is also a HOLY GOD. A HOLY GOD demands payment for sin. Otherwise God, would NOT, and could NOT be HOLY. “Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Romans 5:12 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8
3. Jesus died to pay for our sins…“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him (Jesus) should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 “But God commendeth (proved) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Romans 5:8,9
4. Jesus invites you to be saved today…“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9,10 HOLY GOD and unholy humankind are incompatible. God is holy and cannot change His nature, but God can change ours.“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” II Corinthians 5:17 God is holy and demands payment for sin, but God punished Christ for our sins.“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put t o death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” I Peter 3:18 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 Pray…Dear Lord, I confess that I am a guilty sinner and that I need to be saved. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay my sin debt. Please forgive my sins, come into my heart, and save my soul.
